A useful scope names the platforms in play—intake forms, document vault, screening provider, underwriting queue, and merchant master—and the period under review. Without that, teams debate access instead of findings.
Sample size should follow your volume and risk mix, not a fixed percentage. We usually propose strata for SME, mid-market, and restricted MCC cohorts, then agree severity definitions before fieldwork starts.
Deliverables matter as much as findings. Ops wants a fix backlog with owners; risk committees want residual-risk language. We write both from the same evidence pack so nothing gets lost in translation.
